BVCC is available for hire to groups & individuals requring a venue to hold activities, meetings and even exhibitions or displays over weekends.


The building is over 100 years old. In the past it was the focal point for the local residents to attend dances, movies and concerts. In recent years groups have been using this facilioty for a range of activities suitable for all ages, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens.

A small volunteer committee manages the Centre and regularly offers events for the people in the Wollongong area to attend. Wollongong City Council assists by providing funding for maintenance works to the building. The centre received major restoration works in 2007.

The centre is located on Balgownie Road directly opposite the Collegians Club. It is near bus stops and a short walk to the Balgownie Village shops. Balgownie is situated just west of the Princes Highway at Fairy Meadow and just 5km from Wollongong CBD.
